The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign started more than 20 years ago at the inauguration of the Women’s Global Leadership Institute. Every year, it begins on International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women and ends on International Day of Human Rights.

The 2022 theme was “UNITE! Activism to end violence against women and girls,” aiming to motivate the world and show solidarity with activists who advocate for women’s rights.
