On October 1, 2018, the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, the Minister of International Development, released the 2017-18 Report to Parliament on Canada’s Official Development Assistance. The report provides a summary of Canada’s international assistance activities and results from the 2017-18 fiscal year, with a focus on the achievements of its implementing partners.

The report praised Agriteam’s Building Extractive Sector Governance in Colombia (Comunica) Project for supporting women’s groups to “strengthen their leadership roles in mining communities” and to “advocate for the safety of communities where artisanal gold operations are prevalent”. Similarly, our Strengthening Education Management at the District Level in Honduras (FORTA) Project was recognized for its use of “gender-sensitive approaches to community engagement” and promotion of “women’s equal participation”, while our Police Training Assistance Project (PTAP) in Ukraine was acknowledged for “transforming the country’s police services into an effective, accountable and community-focused institution.”

Agriteam’s Strengthening of Regional Governments for Social and Economic Development in northern Peru (ProGobernabilidad), Expert Deployment for Governance and Economic Growth in Ukraine (EDGE) and Strengthening Extractive Sector Management in Mongolia (SESMIM) projects were also recognized under the respective Peru, Ukraine, Mongolia “Results around the world” webpages.
