Natural Disasters resulting from extreme weather conditions are becoming more frequent and are impacting locations in the Caribbean and beyond. In response, the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) developed a Rapid Response Programme for the reinstatement of civic infrastructure following natural disasters. As part of the Programme, Alinea and our partners will be providing technical advisers to rapidly address the essential needs of Caribbean countries and other British Overseas Territories in the wake of disasters.

Through the “Disaster Recover Rapid Response Plan for Overseas Territories” project, Alinea will lead a consortium with engineering firms Stantec, ATCO and Quanta to provide on-demand expertise to direct the repair and reinstatement of key infrastructure. Expertise includes water systems and supply, electrical and power, roads and physical infrastructure, airports and ports, fuels, and telecommunications.

The Rapid Response Programme is delivered jointly by the Department for International Development (DFID) and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), through the cross-government Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF).
