Canadian Secretary of State Randeep Sarai visits with partners to mark the new project

Canadian Secretary of State for International Development Randeep Sarai officially launched the Pacific Women Entrepreneurs as Island Guardians (Pasifika WE-Guardians) project in Fiji last month.

The project, funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented by Alinea, supports women-led, women-owned, nature-based enterprises in climate-vulnerable communities in Fiji, Samoa and Tuvalu.

Secretary of State Sarai visited two of these businesses: South Sea Orchids and South Pacific Coffee . They discussed protecting communities and ecosystems in the Pacific, focusing on trade opportunities with Canada.

Against the backdrop of Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy, the launch received extensive coverage by Secretary of State Sarai, Global Affairs Canada, and their regional counterparts:
