This year, Tuvaluan women proudly celebrated International Women’s Day, which reminds us that when we invest in women when we give them opportunities, resources, and recognition we gain stronger families, thriving communities, economic resilience, and a sustainable future for Tuvalu.

In the that spirit , Alinea International in collaboration with Fatulei (Tuvalu Women for Change) through the Pasifika WE Guardians Project continues to empower indigenous women, to build stronger, climate resilient, nature based businesses in rural communities.

As the impacts of climate change and extreme weather intensify, Tuvaluan women remain at the frontlines, applying deep traditional knowledge and innovative solutions to protect their families, livelihoods, and environment.

🐤 On Niutao, the project will pilot a “Climate Change Adaptation for Small Business” initiative focusing on women led chicken poultry enterprises. This initiative not only supports food security and income generation it also strengthens Indigenous practices that have sustained our people for generations.

Funded by Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada, Pasifika WE-GUARDIANS aims to enhance the climate resilience of women-led and women owned nature-based owned businesses, particularly those run by indigenous women in rural area vulnerable to climate change and extreme weather events across Fiji, Samoa and Tuvalu
