About the Project
The Enhancing Community Climate Options for Adaptation and Resilience in Mongolia (ECCO-FARM) project will help rural Mongolians improve their livelihoods and build resilience by adopting Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), Agriculture Nature-based Solutions (AgNBS) and biodiversity protection for sustainable production, agricultural growth, food security and climate change adaptation (CCA).

Functional Responsibilities

Overall, the local project coordinator’s role is pivotal in ensuring effective coordination, implementation, and evaluation of project activities at the local level, while also fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders to support the achievement of project objectives. These include but are not limited to the followings:

  • To support project team to identify local stakeholders and collaborators.
  • To facilitate effective communication and collaboration among parties to ensure smooth project implementation at the provincial and regional levels.
  • To manage logistical aspects related to project activities at the local sites including coordinating transportation, arranging accommodation for participants or staff, etc.
  • Be directly involved in the execution of project activities at the local level involving organizing training sessions, workshops, community meetings, or other events as outlined in the project plan.
  • Keeping accurate records is essential for tracking progress and ensuring accountability and maintaining detailed records of training sessions, meetings, and any other relevant information related to project activities conducted at the local level.
  • To play a crucial role in implementing local monitoring and evaluation activities to assess the impact and effectiveness of project interventions, including collecting data, conducting surveys or interviews, and analyzing results to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  • The provincial level coordinator will world under direct supervision of the Project Operations manager and will closely cooperate with UB based coordinators, national and international experts.

Knowledge And Skills Required

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant technical topics;
  • At least 10 years experience working applying in agriculture and community development projects;
  • Excellent writing, editing, reporting and drafting skills in English and Mongolian language;
  • On-time, well-organized, flexible, and able to work under minimal supervision in a multi-task and international environment;
  • Strong communication, presentational and interpersonal skills;
  • Takes initiative to leading local activities, and is able to inspire, motivate and manage a team;
  • Demonstrates fortitude amidst challenges and perseveres despite the challenges.
