Alinea is proud to announce the beginning of a new project in Tanzania, the “Teacher Education Support Project (TESP).” Funded by Global Affairs Canada, the five-year, CAD 6.8M project will improve basic education for girls and boys in Tanzania by improving the management of teacher education and teacher professional development, and by improving the quality of relevant, gender-sensitive education for over 50,000 student teacher trainees in 35 Teacher Training Colleges across Tanzania. Alinea staff will work with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST), as well as the government Teacher Training College management teams, to provide technical services, capacity development, coaching, mentoring and advice to improve the quality of teachers entering the profession, thereby improving the quality of basic education and learning outcomes for girls and boys in primary and secondary schools across Tanzania.
